Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Vorlesungen über die Philosophie des subjektiven Geistes II, Gesammelte Werke, 25,2

The first volume (GW 25,1), published in 2008, includes the transcripts of the lectures from 1822 and 1825 that Hegel gave based on the first edition of his “Encyclopedia of the Philosophical Sciences in Outline” (1817). The second volume now contains the textual witnesses of the 1827/28 lectures (the transcript by Stolzenberg with variants from the transcripts of Erdmann and Walter), which Hegel based on the second edition of the “Encyclopedia” (1827).

Additionally, this volume includes the “Secondary Transmission” of the “Additions” to Volume 7 of Hegel’s “Collected Works” from 1845, which were also edited based on lecture transcripts, as they are largely independent of the wording of the preserved lecture transcripts and thus form a distinct source. Therefore, all the materials for this first part of the Philosophy of Spirit are now available. The Editorial Report and the Notes will appear in Volume 25,3.
